Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Étude systematique des expressions figées en francais pour une théorie de la phraséologie 1998. Supervised by Dr. Jesús Lago Garabatos.
As a teacher, I have been teaching French since 2000 at the Faculty of Humanities (Lugo Campus) at undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. My research focuses on phraseology, with special dedication to the field of Phraseodidactics and Phraseotraductology. I lead the Phraseonet research group (www.phraseonet.com) since 2007, the journal Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega since 2017 and the Fraseoloxía Galega project at the Centro de Investigacións para as Humanidades Ramón Piñeiro, a centre belonging to the Xunta de Galicia, since 2018. All my scientific contributions, both publications and the organisation of events, are articulated around these areas. The relevance of my scientific production can be seen above all by the re-publication of a book that is already a reference in the field of phraseology, La (nouvelle) Phraséologie du français (2021, 3e ed.). My scientific contributions are also related to the direction of regional and national projects linked to phraseology and phraseology, as well as the co-direction of a European ERASMUS + project (Modernisation de l'enseignement des langues dans les centres de langues des universités algériennes), coordinated by the Algerian University of Tlencem. The research carried out to date has culminated in the creation of a totally innovative teaching and learning method with IPR shared between 6 universities: Phraséotext - Le Français idiomatique, published in 2015 and updated in 2022 and with a 2nd edition in 2023, revised and completed (Le Nouveau Phraséotext-Le Français idiomatique). As for positions of responsibility and university management at the University of Santiago de Compostela, I have been successively Vice-Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Deputy Vice-Rector for Academic Studies and International Relations at the Lugo Campus, for which I was awarded the Gold Badge of the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2014. In addition, I coordinate a dozen Erasmus agreements and I have carried out fifteen teaching mobility placements. I am currently a member of the PEP commission at ANECA and I coordinate the PhD Programme Cultural Studies: Memory, Identity, Territory and Language at my university.
