Doctor by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with the thesis Una mirada dialógica al aprendizaje-servicio. Relatos sobre sentido, agencia y mutualidad en la quinta dimensión 2018. Supervised by Dr. José Luis Lalueza Sazatornil.

Degree in Psychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Master in Educational Psychology from the University of Barcelona and PhD in Educational Psychology from the Interuniversity Doctorate in Educational Psychology (UB, UAB, UDG and URL). He began his research in the field of interculturality in the research group DEHISI (UAB), where he then continued in the field of Service-Learning in the framework of a grant for FPI contracts. During her PhD, she stayed at the University of Delaware to train in dialogic research and dialogic pedagogy. In the postdoctoral period, she also initiated research on funds of knowledge. Through a contract grant, Juan de la Cierva joined the ESCULCA research group at USC, where he joined national Service-Learning projects and articulated the link between research and participatory educational methodologies (IAP, ApS and FdC) and the rural environment. This process gave rise, at the transfer level, to a platform for inter-institutional collaboration between higher education and rural professionals and activists: www.arredordorural.org.
