Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Aprendizaje-servicio en las universidades gallegas evaluación y propuesta de desarrollo 2014. Supervised by Dr. Miguel Anxo Santos Rego, Dr. María del Mar Lorenzo Moledo.

Alexandre Sotelino Losada is a Doctor of Education Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela, an institution where he also previously obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy, with an Extraordinary Award and a Diploma of Advanced Studies. In 2021 he was named best university teacher in Spain in the Educa-Abanca Awards, and was a finalist in 2022, 2019 and 2018. Also in 2021 he received two SUISIA Awards for the coordination of the APS project “PEITEAS-Intercultural Pedagogy and Learning- Servizo”, and in 2024 the Alfredo Iglesias Prize in the science category. It was part of the FPU (University Teacher Training) program of the Ministry of Education between the years 2009–2013. He currently works as a contracted professor in the Department of Pedagogy and Didactics. Previously I also worked at the University of Vigo. Its priority research lines are: intercultural education and pedagogy, complexity and theory of educational processes, international education, civic education, educational policies, service-learning and applied anthropology. It belongs to the Esculca Research Group, recognized by the USC and the Xunta de Galicia as a Competitive Reference Group, which won the 3rd National Prize for Educational Research in 2003, the 1st National Prize for Educational Research in 2007 and the María Barbeito Prize for Education in Galicia for Research. During the last few years he made different appearances at national and international Congresses. It belongs to the RIES Research Network made up of 7 research groups from the Galician University System (SUG). He is also coordinator of the Alén teaching innovation group - ApS
