Doctor by the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with the thesis Spectral-spatial classification of n-dimensional images in real-time based on segmentation and mathematical morphology on GPUs 2015. Supervised by Dr. Francisco Argüello Pedreira, Dr. Dora Blanco Heras.

I joined the Computer Architecture Group of the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2010 as a research assistant, and received my PhD in Information Technology Research from the same University in 2015 with Cum Laude. Currently I'm an Associate Professor in the Computer Architecture and Technology area of the University of Santiago de Compostela. My research interests include multi / hyper spectral remote sensing data processing in low-cost devices focused on feature extraction and analysis of data in order to reduce transfer time, save storage space, and speed-up data analysis for real time processing by programming parallel applications in shared memory architectures and general-purpose computing on graphics processing units (GPGPU).
