Resumen

Nanotechnology offers the possibility of enhancing the performance of immunomodulatory molecules by facilitating their transport across biological barriers and targeting them to the immune system. Considering this promising potential, this thesis has focused on the development of polymeric nanocarriers loaded with an immunomodulatory molecule for the prevention of type 1 diabetes. Furthermore, pursuing the transdermal supplementation of this molecule, these nanocarriers were optimized to enhance its penetration across the skin.
