Doctor by the Universitat de Barcelona with the thesis L'ordenació dels espais agraris metropolitans. Plans, gestió i conflictes territorials a la Regió de Barcelona 2006. Supervised by Dr. Joan Tort Donada.
I define myself, first and foremost, as a passionate geographer and traveller. My main research lines are spatial planning, focusing on open spaces, protected areas and endogenous/local development; landscapes; mountains; rural and food studies; peri-urban areas; political and cultural geography, including the challenging field of border studies; and tourism, namely nature and/or rural tourisms. I have devoted my work to expand the geographical understanding of my nations (Galicia and Catalonia), Western Australia (which I consider my adoptive country) and wider regions (especially, the Iberian Peninsula, the European Union and Latin America). Please see a video regarding my research in the Trevinca Mountains at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef7LHc0n7yE (in Galician, with subtitles in English)
