Pablo Durán Santomil (Santiago de Compostela, 1982) is an Associate Professor in the area of Financial Economics and Accounting (Department of Financial Economics and Accounting) at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). He completed his academic training at this institution, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management (2005, with Extraordinary Award), a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (2007, with Extraordinary Award), a Diploma of Advanced Studies (2007), and a PhD in Corporate Finance and Capital Markets (2010). He carried out predoctoral research stays at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidade do Minho (Braga). In the teaching field, he has developed his career at USC, holding the positions of substitute lecturer, assistant professor, contracted doctor, and currently, associate professor. He has also held management roles, such as Secretary of the Faculty of Business Administration and Management in Lugo (November 2016 – January 2020) and of the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting (since November 2021 to the present). He is a member of the research group Applied Financial Valuation (VALFINAP) and of ECOBAS (Economics and Business Administration for Society). His research focuses on enterprise risk management (ERM), corporate sustainability (ESG), and investment products, areas in which he has received awards such as the Valentín Paz Andrade Prize. He has published more than 40 papers in prestigious journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection, including Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Journal of Business Research, Financial Innovation, Finance Research Letters, European Research on Management and Business Economics, and International Review of Economics & Finance. He also serves as a peer reviewer for more than 20 WoS-indexed journals. Finally, it is worth highlighting his strong commitment to knowledge transfer, reflected in more than 40 research projects and contracts carried out in collaboration with various organizations and companies.
