Resumo

Multiple simultaneous exposures to electromagnetic signals from various sources (multiple frequencies with high bandwidth) is the real scenario in our daily life. In this study, we investigated the non thermal SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) in vivo rats exposed at multiple signals to electromagnetic (EM) fields -at frequencies of 900 and 2.450 MHz-, and 2 W power. The corresponding experimental system (ES) consisted of: two vector signal generators, a directional coupler, a spectrum analyzer, a signal mixer, a power meter, and the GTEM chamber itself -where the animal was located with the help of an appropriate holder. The 1g mean SAR values in the different anatomical regions of the nervous system and whole-body of the rat were estimated from experimental power measurements, and with the aid of a FDTD software tool. These novel protocols of radiation will be used to investigate biological effects on the small animals
