Abstract

Nowadays, a great variety of materials are used for food packaging applications. Its study is very important from the food safety point of view, since they can contain components susceptible to migrate to the food, supposing a concern for human health. This doctoral thesis is focused on the one hand on the chemical safety of materials for food contact such as plastic, polymeric coatings, or biobased and/or biodegradable materials. On the other hand, it was assessed the risk assessment through the dietary exposure estimation of Spanish population to chemicals transferred from polymeric coatings into canned foods, and an in vitro bioaccesibility study to contribute to the evaluation of the bioaccessibility of Cyclo-di-BADGE after ingestion in several naturally contaminated canned food samples.
