Resumo

This paper focuses its arguments on the analysis of the relationships established between schoolsand social services in local contexts, understanding the educational phenomenon as a process of shared welfarebuilt jointly. Although both institutions pursue common objectives linked to the welfare and integraldevelopment of children and youth, they do not always work in favor of positive schooling in coordinationwith the resources and educational agents of the territory. The main objective of the study focuses on analyzing–through a documentary review– the relationship between social services and schools, taking as areference the publications on Social Pedagogy/Social Education in the Spanish context in the period 2000-2022. The results obtained point to the need to address new socio-educational challenges, breaking with therehabilitative vision of social services, understanding them as a community resource that supports, feedsback and strengthens school action. Educational co-responsibility requires overcoming organizational compartmentalizationand involving all agents (politicians, technicians and citizens) in terms of networking. Weconclude on the need to expand research on socio-educational interventions carried out jointly between theschool and social services, evaluating their impact on the improvement of socio-educational opportunitiesfor children.
