Resumo

The main aim of this paper is to highlight the advantages of using computer tools, such as textualcorpora, in order to establish the connotativ and pragmatic meaning of phraseologisms. Thephraseologisms sp. dormir el sueño de los justos / ge. den Schlaf der Gerechten schlafen are analyzed,both included under the conceptual field DEATH of the database created within the research projectFRASESPAL. Due to their formal parallelism, our first intuition is that they are total equivalents.However, and thanks to the empirical study, we come to the conclusion that they are polysemicphraseologisms in both languages, but with no matching sememes neither in its meaning, nor in itsfrequency of use
