Resumo

Seasonaly, from summer 1985 to spring 1986, samples of mussels were collected from two sites at the NW spanish coast: Ria de Arosa and Ria de Ares-Betanzos. Proctoeces maculatus and Rudolphinus crucibulum, digenetic trematodes, were detected at mantle and digestive glan, being R. crucibulum reported by the first time in galician coast. Histological results show how both species disturb mussel gametogenesis, and the hemocytic/fibrogenetic responses caused by P. maculatus. However, those reactions hasn´t been remarked when mussel is parasitized by R. crucibulum. Also, we have observed the presence of the copepods Modiolicola gracilis in commensal relation with the mitilid, and Myticola intestinalis which, from our results, seems not to have influence in the host condition index. This fact make us believe that galician mussel developed a kind of resistence to this copepod so far studied.
