Resumo

Infographics has been one of the journalistic genres with a major development during the last few years. Although its origin is linked to print newspapers, it has found a new multimedia and interactive space on the Internet. So much so that many researchers have considered interactive infographics a new genre isolated from its print benchmark. This article will review the production routines and main characteristics of infographic journalists at two of the most renowned print media outlets in Portugal: Expresso and Público. By using in-depth interviews, it has been possible to find out how they are managing with the elaboration of this genre by analysing the following areas: use of technological tools, production time or decision-making processes, among others.
