Resumo

- Objective: The aim of this study was to test in subject without previous knowledge of water rescue, quantitative and qualitative differences in the performance of lifesaving techniques in relation to the methodology applied in order to prove what is the best methodology. - Material and Methods: Twenty four people without any knowledge of water rescue were divided in three groups. Different situations were explained in order to be resolved by the sample. Then, each group was taught to resolve the same situations, three teaching methodologies were chosen; oral explanation, out of the water demonstration (dry demonstration) and in the water demonstration (water demonstration). - Conclusions: This study reinforces the concepts which are exposed in the bibliography; the perfect methodology doesn’t exist, the methodology effectiveness is different in function of the situation to resolve. Therefore, a table is presented where the lifesaving techniques are related with the right teaching methodology.
