Resumo

In this research we study the format A day with the candidate through four journalistics works appeared in the basque press on the occasion of the Basque Parliamentary election in 2012, in order to observe the extent of such type of reporting in political communication. Therefore it takes into account the quite exceptional nature of the type of information off ered in these news reports about the candidates with a closer image of themselves, ignoring the public discourse to focus on other points of interest such as the importance of a healthy life, their sports and/or hobbies, or membership in NGOs, among other aspects of his private life.
