Abstract

Students are grouped according to age in school. Hence, into a classroom there may be differences in age of nearly a year. The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference between development in four-year-old children according to the quarter of the year of their birth. Eighty-five students participated voluntarily in the study. The observational scale of development was used as a tool for assessment. There are clear differences between boys and girls born in the first two quarters of the year, compared to those born in the last, (p = 0.002). Mentioned differences in the same classroom should be resolved through reforms in the education level. No statistical differences were found by sex.
