Abstract
University-Industry collaboration (UIC) is an increasingly important phenomenon from both the political and academic point of view. This paper aims at analysing such a phenomenum using the Regional Systems of Innovation framework. Thus in the first part of the paper we define UIC as one of the participants in the System of Innovation of a particular territory sharing therefore, the general features of the system. In the second part we bring about the results of an empirical research made in order to analyse the particular case of UIC in Galicia. As a conclusion we point out that the peripheral situation of the Galician Economy is a major determinant for the Galician System of Innovation and hence for the University-Industry collaboration
