Zusammenfassung

This paper discusses the dominant social representation of Galician identity and its stronger cultural component, associated with language. Notwithstanding the symbolic identification with the territory, the representation of nature and natural heritage as a part of Galician identity is feebler. A representation of Galicia frequently found is grounded in a rural timeless landscape, ignoring urban settings.
