Resumo

Our paper proposes a methodology for analysing nominal predicates, focusing on the predicate death meaning 'end of life'. We highlight the complexity of nominal groups and their polysemy, and propose a dependency approach to better understand their inner workings. Data were collected from a corpus and required selective treatment before being syntactically-semantically annotated. This analysis allowed us to identify several relevant aspects, such as the centrality of nominal arguments. Given the usefulness of this approach for language teaching and lexicography, we propose to continue this research for other types of predicates and to experiment with other semantic annotation systems.
