Abstract

The events that occurred in Spain on February 23, 1981 are of general interest to all citizens of our country. Like one of them, the author of this thesis participates in that interest. Consequently, he begins his work with a historical account that allows contextualizing what he intends to do. This is to investigate everything that the events of that day –of such sad memory– and its aftermath induced in the textual, graphic and audiovisual fictional creation, to end with a comparative perspective of the subjects dealt with and their conclusions. This researcher is surprised (as it would surprise anyone who continued in his line of work) by the quantity –and the quality in some cases– of works produced by the 23F coup attempt. It was undoubtedly traumatic for a citizenry that for five years had been coming out of a forty-year iron dictatorship, which triggered creativity. The cause being so serious and its effect so great, in this thesis the study is limited to what can be covered in certain fields: novels, poetry, theater, graphic humor, cinema, television, video games and painting. Others remain to be explored, some of them related to what is to be exposed. Francoism and its censorship had done a lot of damage to the Spanish intellectual world, which would affect the rigor of the works studied within the chosen creative areas. However, the work carried out does not make distinctions: it focuses on an exhaustive, joint and comparative analysis of everything investigated that entered the corpus of Spanish culture
