Resumo

The Galician sanctuaries that emerged late in modern times were holy places whose sacralization, as a gradual process, required the devotion of the people. Following a theme of maximum actuality, framed within the history of the culture and the popular religious practices, the present communication will use a comparative methodology accredited, with influences of the anthropology and of the study of the history of the religions that will allow to approach a possible definition and categorization of the main centers of cult of the modern western Galicia.
