Abstract

The present study experimentally studied the influence of emerging methodologies and new teaching techniques such as gamification in the field of Physical Education. The sample consisted of 47 students from a public school in Majadahonda (Community of Madrid), aged between 8 and 12 years old, from 4th to 6th grade. To determine this influence, two groups were created, a control group and an experimental group. Both groups followed a didactic program with the same curricular elements, but for the experimental group it was gamified. The gamification was entitled "PokEFmon against sedentary lifestyle" and consisted of trying to get the collection of stickers to complete the portfolio by overcoming the different missions. As this was an experimental study, a pre-test was carried out prior to the start of the intervention and a post-test at the end. The questionnaires used were: the Perceived Locus of Causality Scale (PLOC), Novelty Need. Satisfaction and Frustration Scale, (NNSFS), the Measurement of Intention to be Physically Active (MIFA), measure frequency and extent of use of ICT (CUTIC) and the questionnaire of satisfaction of Physical Education classes, Physical Activity Class Satisfaction Questionnaire (PACSQ).
