Abstract
The gingivitis descamatica (GD) is a clinical situation characterized by a eritema diffuse of the encía free and inserted that it associates with areas of desquamation of the epithelium. It is a picture that was observed to finals of the past century, attributing then to disequilibriums hormonales, since the majority of the cases produced in women postmenopáusicas. The development of the technicians diagnósticas inmunohistoquímicas opened new perspectives, and nowadays considers that the GD is a common clinical demonstration to different illnesses muco cutaneous chronic. The importance of said injury, so much for the periodoncista like odontoestomatólogo general, roots in his frequency, in that it can confuse with other forms of gingivitis and because it can be the first demonstration of an illness sistémica underlying, any of which has a high morbilidad and/or mortality. In the present article review the main clinical characteristics, so much buccal like extrabucales, histopatologías, the findings of inmunofluorescencia direct and indirect and the treatments employed in the illnesses that more often can manifest with GD: the liquen flat (LP), the penfigoide cicatricial (PC) and the pénfigo vulgar (PV); as well as also it does reference to other processes that with lower frequency also can present like GD: Likewise, it indicates the systematic to be followed by the professional in front of a picture of GD, and finally realize some considerations between which stands out the responsibility of the professional of the buccal health in the precocious diagnostic of the pictures of this nature.
