Resumo

Mesointestinal lipomas are infrequent and lipoma of the left colon is very uncommon. Imaging studies, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are decisive in the preoperative diagnosis. However, in case of doubts about benignity or clinical appearance or large size, surgical treatment is recommended andthe diagnosis is given by the anatomo-pathological study. We present a case of giant lipoma of the left mesocolon whose diagnosis raised doubts between fissure adenocarcinoma versusmesocolon sarcoma.
