Resumo

This paper investigates the ways in which deliberation takes place in the practice of argumentation, namely in the realm of argumentative practice. The discussion is focused on the whereabouts taken place in the mind of the thinker when constructing cogent pieces of reasoning leading from premises to conclusion. It is shown that the epistemic enterprise of arguing requires making choices and presupposes rational deliberation facing available evidence.
