Abstract

Don Cruickshank, a Scottish Hispanist who specialized in Spanish literature, in general from the Golden Age, is remembered. He studied in depth and published on Calderón de la Barca, Góngora and many other authors of that time. In this obituary the relevance of this Hispanist for the Hispanic culture is told and various data from his biography are mentioned that show the important relationships with other researchers when it comes to contributing more documentation and studies to this field. His most notable published works are also reviewed, especially those of Calderón de la Barca.
