Resumen

El enfoque procesual desarrollado durante las últmas décadas en los estudios lítcos ha permitdo superar el supuesto carácter “arcaico” de los conjuntos en cuarzo. El progresivo abandono de las clasifcaciones exclusivamente tpológicas y las innovaciones metodológicas han posibilitado sobrepasar la apariencia informal de los artefactos de cuarzo y la defnición de las estrategias tecnológicas que rigen la gestón de este recurso por parte de las sociedades prehistóricas. Aspectos sobre la movilidad de los artefactos en cuarzo, la caracterización mecánica y petrográfca, la variabilidad tecnológica de los conjuntos, la funcionalidad de los artefactos en cuarzo y su signifcado social y simbólico ofrecen una visión completa sobre las sociedades del pasado
