Resumo

The assessment of the psychological hami is a key evidence in criminal casesimplying victims and a necessary evidence in cases ofpsychological violence as there isno case if there is no a Victim and a Victim is defined by the hann; in this Case, psychological harm. Literature has identifiecl Posttraumatic Stress Disorder as thepsychological ham. This is a gap, as Adjustment Disorder and Acute Stress Disorderalso may be the appropriate diagnose for the psychological harm. Nevertheless, thediagnosis of psychological harm is an insufficient proof, requiring forensic assessmentpreviously of a differential diagnosis of malingering. The diagnosis of psychologicalharm and the differential diagnosis of malingering requires of a multimethod approachconsisting of a clinical interview and a psychometric assessment. The standard clinicalinterview is not valid for these two proposes (i.e., assessment ofpsychological harm andmalingering), being created the forensic-clinical interview that additionally may stablisha causal relationship between the psychological harm and the investigated actions. Inrelation to the psychometric instruments reviewed, the best results were found for the MMPL2, ln conclusion, the forensic technique to assess psychological hann must reston the combination of the forensic-clinical interview and the MMPI-2.
