Roles del docente universitario en procesos de aprendizaje colaborativo en entornos virtuales

Resumen

Las instituciones de educación superior se enfrentan al compromiso permanente de formar y acompañar al profesorado en un contexto marcadamente digital que implica una continua adaptación cultural y un compromiso con la innovación en los procesos docentes. El trabajo colaborativo constituye una presencia consolidada en las aulas virtuales que sigue planteando grandes retos a docentes y estudiantes. Este artículo presenta un estudio acerca de las tareas y roles docentes en el trabajo colaborativo en entornos virtuales; identificando su tipología y la importancia conferida por los estudiantes. La investigación se llevó a cabo con 104 alumnos en 5 asignaturas de grado en las que se desarrolló una metodología de trabajo colaborativo en línea. Se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo basado en el método de encuesta, en el que se emplearon diversos análisis descriptivos y multivariantes. Los estudiantes han valorado como muy importantes todas y cada una de las tareas docentes propuestas para el desarrollo del trabajo colaborativo, destacando aquellas con un componente social y personal. Los resultados obtenidos han permitido identificar un total de siete roles clave que un docente universitario debería desarrollar cuando implementa una metodología de trabajo colaborativo en línea: pedagógico, evaluador, social, tecnológico, orientador/mediador, organizador/gestor y personal. Si bien no todos alcanzan la misma valoración, las puntuaciones obtenidas son muy altas indicando la necesidad de una formación docente específica para asumir las exigencias de una enseñanza en línea y, más específicamente, para afrontar la implementación de las propuestas de aprendizaje colaborativo en entornos virtuales.
