Abstract

Accusations of pedophilia are now proliferating within the Catholic Church. The problem is global and demands an immediate solution. Some possibilities of investigation of this nefarious crime have been tested but the truth is that until now they have not provided an adequate and satisfactory response for the parties involved. Faced with this situation, the current government has proposed the participation of the Ombudsman. The present work studies this possibility and its implications and argues that this institution is not the most appropriate to solve the problem effectively
