Abstract

This paper has two key objectives. First, we present the history and composition of the Resp. Log. Adelphia, whose importance stems from being one of the first constituent lodges of the Grand Sovereign Lodge of Puerto Rico (GLSPR), the mother lodge of Santiago Rosendo Palmer, the first Grand Master of the GLSPR, as well as that of various other Grand Functionaries of the GLSPR, during its initial period. Our second objective is to answer, using statistical methods, and an important question: From the times of Adelphia (1888) to date (2011- 2012), how has the composition of these lodges changed?
