Abstract
The aedeagus of some of the Iberian species of the genus Pityogenes (Pityogenes calcaratus, Pityogenes bidentatus, Pityogenes quadridens, Pityogenes trepanatus, Pityogenes bistridentatus, Pityogenes chalcographus collected in forests in Galicia in 1988-92 and/or elsewhere in the peninsula) is described and categorised as a valid and useful taxonomical character to differentiate species with a similar external morphology.
