Abstract

Tree-rings from numerous wood samples of different tree species growing in Galicia were studied in order to identify conspicuous features in wood anatomy. Some of these features were related to some ecological events, whereas other responses appeared to be specific for single individuals, and its interpretation was not possible in this case. The aim of these results is to show that the analysis of event years as regards their wood anatomy broadens the perspectives of dendroecology within the studied region, as it indicates the occurrence of certain events that affect tree growth.
