Resumo

In this work different models for the estimation of the amount of tree biomass and its distribution in fractions in Eucalyptus globulus plantations have been developed. Some alometric equations which relate the dry weight with tree high and/or dbh were employed. The study was carried out in nine 6-18 years old-plantations located in the north of Galicia and Asturias (Spain). The results showed that in the mature plantations (14-18 years old), the logging residues made up the 25% of the total dry weight of aboveground tree biomass.
