Zusammenfassung

The fourth industrial revolution's (4IR) technologically driven shift will result in tectonic changes and transformations in the way many organizations go about their everyday business. These major changes will impact all industries and sectors globally. The 4IR emerged from and is led by smart manufacturing (SM). This study aims to investigate the comprehension of the five most important asset areas for the new 4IR project manager (PM) role. Thus, a survey questionnaire was created and distributed, targeting construction project managers within the GCC states. The findings showed the superiority of those with professional and academic qualifications over their peers. The literature review indicated that the respondents showed high possession of the five main skills required for 4IR with a slight weakness in the receptivity toward digitalization.
