Abstract
The University of Valladolid has an important collection of illustrated copies of Ovid’s works found in the Historical Fund of the University Library of the Colegio de Santa Cruz. The selection of copies that stands out for its quality and rarity in the Spanish landscape ranges from the incunable Venetian of 1493 with the commented text of the Metamorphoses to the only Spanish illustrated edition of the nineteenth-century poem, which is published in four volumes in Madrid between 1805 and 1819. The purpose of this article is to present the documentation and research work that has been carried out on this interesting collection within the framework of the research project on the illustrated editions of Ovid in Spanish libraries, whose results are in the process of being published on the site Website of the Ovid Digital Library (http://www.ovidiuspictus.es/bdo.php).
