Abstract
Spatial mobility is one of the key elements of the current rural space. International labor migration, the result of residential mobility strategies or rural to urban and urban to rural daily movements for work, study, acquisition of goods and services or for leisure are part of the new translocal society. Within the new paradigm of mobility and aware to the social value attributed to the fact to move, the paper raises the relationship between mobility and gender from the lived experience of women living in rural areas. Specifically, it investigates the mobility patterns of women, their reasons for movement in their daily lives, but particularly their perception of mobility. The research has been conducted through in-depth interviews to sixty women in rural areas of Catalonia and Galicia
