Abstract

The Northern mountains of Galicia are a territory which, by its biological value, has been incorporated into various areas of environmental management, however, extremely unique physical environment in the European context, has not been enough attention, much less specific protection. This work has as objective to show two of the values of its geodiversity, soils and peatlands. In these mountains the main complex of bogs in southern Europe and a significant cohort of paleosols and polycyclic soils is concentrated, making now a hotspot for international research.
