Patrimonio mundial en la diócesis mindoniense. La catedral de Mondoñedo

Abstract

A network of Routes of Northern Spain is an extension of the Route of Santiago de Compostela, a serial site inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1993. This extension represents that the Mindonian cultural heritage linked to the pilgrimage was part of the site and the Cathedral of Mondoñedo was recognized one of components of the property that contribute to justify the declaration of Outstanding Universal Value. Due to the importance of this monument, we propose a novel study on this unique construction that is based on the analysis of the evolution of its roofs throughout its history, coinciding with the 800th anniversary of the bishopric Don Martín 1 (1219-1248), this prelate was who promoted the constmction of the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
