Zusammenfassung
In this presentation, we focus on the importance ofthe agricultural sector crisis and its effects on society’sdemand for specific education for graduates in agriculturalsectors. We reflect on the roles and characteristics of futurefarmers, which will determine the demands of education forstudents. In order to know the characteristics of the studentstrained at the Higher Polytechnic School of Lugo (EscolaPolitécnica Superior), we present a study consisting of morethan 1000 surveys that was conducted among recentgraduates before 2004. The results reveal that there is not aperfect link between the large educational effort made andthe sectors in which young engineers will work.
