Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is the "patrimonial" investigation of the historic town of Pontedeume (A Coruña), in order to verify the validity of the method applied to its study as a generic tool that allows to overcome the documentary gaps that prevent progress in a better evolutionary knowledge of our historical centers, and thus be able to more adequately found the intervention and conservation criteria that can be considered in each case. With the consideration of the city as a living heritage, and moving away from preconceived ideas arising from the static perception of contemporary reality, we propose to remove the layers of time deposited on the town and its monuments, to finally achieve, through drawing as a tool for analysis and architectural reflection supported by the bibliographic search, documentary tracing and comparison with other historical parallels, a dynamic record of its transformations, which can offer a coherent response to the way in which this historic center has reached today.
