Resumo

We analyze the Galician women or those linked to Galicia who lived in the Residence for Student Women of Madrid in the twentyone years of its existence, between 1915 and 1936. After a brief introduction about the creation of the center by the Board for the Extension of Studies, we deepen on the biographical profile and the academic and professional trajectories of Galician women who lived in the Residence. For this, we start from a statistical approach and continue with the study of the vital and professional paths of the Galician women linked to the Residence for Student Women, using primary sources of the archive of the Residence itself, and also bibliographic and newspaper sources, in a line of work that continues the one initiated by the authors in previous contributions about the Institución Libre de Enseñanza and the women’s education in Spain.
