Utilización de las sales aniónicas en la prevención de la paresia puerperal hipocalcémica

Resumo

La fiebre de leche es una de las enfermedades metabólicas más frecuentes en el ganado bovino de leche. De los diferentes métodos empleados para la prevención de esta enfermedad, el manejo dietético es el que más ha evolucionado. Muchos investigadores han comprobado que la adición de sales aniónicas a la ración disminuye la incidencia de la fiebre de leche. Las sales aniónicas se incluyen en la dieta de las vacas secas durante 2-3 semanas antes del parto para inducir un estado de acidosis metabólica leve. El mecanismo de acción preciso de los aniones de la dieta no está bien establecido. En estudios previos se ha sugerido que la acidosis metabólica inducida por las sales aniónicas incrementa la respuesta de los tejidos a la hormona paratiroidea, mejora la absorción intestinal de calcio y aumenta la reabsorción ósea de calcio. En este trabajo, revisamos el concepto de diferencial catión-anión de la dieta, con especial énfasis en los efectos fisiológicos que éste puede ejercer en el estado ácido-base, reabsorción ósea, producción renal de 1,25 (OH)2 D3, reabsorción renal de calcio y absorción intestinal de calcio en vacas.
