Resumo
The earthquake that struck the island of Ischia in 1883 was one of the most destructive of the nineteenth century and hads a significant international resonance, due to the fact that it destroyec one of the most famous spa towns at the time : Casamicciola. The newpapers informed of the incident almost immediately and the news spread in Spain in the same way as in other countries. specifically, this article offers a study focusad on the image of the tragedy spread in spanish newpapers of the late neneteenth century
