Zusammenfassung
This article summarises the conclusions of the research carried out in September 2004 analysing the characteristics of the information about drugs provided by the Galician Media. The main findings of the report highlighted the lack of reflexive, analytic and specialised information, particularly on radio and television. The Galician media informs mainly about punctual events on the subject. However, it does not portray drugs as an issue to be considered in depth from a number of perspectives or one whose causes, consequences and approaches should be explored beyond the crime itself and the subsequent institutional action taken. Stereotypes remain in place and there is not such thing as discourse that is distinctive for each medium. In spite of this, they all show great dependency on the network of institutional sources.
