Resumo

This paper aims to identify multiple goal profiles in university students and to analyse their differences in self-esteem. Three multi-goal profiles were identified: a group with predominance of learning goals (LGP); a group oriented to both performance-approach goals and performace-avoidance goals (P-Ap/P-AvP); and a group that adopt the three goals (LG/P-Ap/P-AvP). The LGP showed the highest level of self-esteem, and the LG/PAp/P-AvP showed the lowest level. The results of this work lead to identify which multiple goal profiles constitute a risk factor to self-esteem and which profiles represent a protection group.
