Abstract

Angiographic characteristics of central serous chorioretinopathy were studied by means of digital image analysis using a IMAGEnet system. The type of leakage its localization, and distance to the fovea and detachment were determined. The draft leakage appear more fave away from the detachment and fovea than the smoke leakages. The detachments tend to center on the fovea, and are independent of the distance of the leakage to the fovea. Our results suggest that both, a diffuse area of pigmentary epithelium disfunction and a focalleakage are neccesary to produce and mantein a serous detachment of the sensory retina.
