Resumo
Between the factors that may affect the capacity of an automatic milking system, the time that a cow remains in the box, what we call milking process time, is one of the most important. The aim of our study has been focused, to determine and identify the factors which affect the length of time of milking process in automatic milking systems. We analyzed data collected from software of milking robot of 60 milkings and were combined with recordings of three digital cameras filming every milking. The duration of the variables that define the milking with robot was determined. So milking flow seems the variable that can have more influence on the permanence of the cow in the box. But also others such as the time from start to clean teats until the first teat cup is attachment successfully are important factors. We believe that these data will provide a starting point to refine what aspects and to what extent further affect the capacity of an automatic milking system.
