Abstract
In this article we analyse the evolution of life expectancy in the countries members of MERCOSUR in the period 1970-2000, through the study of its relation with two selected socio-economic indicators. With this purpose, we estimate a panel data econometric model that shows the positive impact of the economic growth and the education on the evolution of the life expectancy levels.
