Resumo
We present the estimation of several econometric models, with an international panel of countries, which show the important positive and significant impact that human capital has on economic development, through the investment effect and other indirect effects, and we insist upon the convenience of fostering international cooperation policies in order to support education and development World wide, and particularly in less developed countries. Other level and rate effects of education on economic development are analyses in a supplementary study by Neira(2003).
